Prince George and Princess Charlotte charmed onlookers at the annual Trooping of the Colours parade on Saturday.

All followers of the royal family know the most exciting part about this event is when the family gathers on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to see the Royal Air Force fly past.

Princess Kate was dressed in a pink Alexander McQueen dress and Jane Taylor hat, with Charlotte complementing her mother in a floral pink dress.

In a poignant tribute to the victims of the Grenfell Tower tragedy and recent terror attacks, she changed her plans...

The Queen said in her message: "Today is traditionally a day of celebration. During her reign, The Queen has attended Trooping the Colour every year except 1955 when it was cancelled because of the National Rail Strike".

Princess Anne, Prince William and the heir to the throne, Prince Charles, rode in the parade on horseback.

Divorce bill focus of Brexit talks on Monday
The concession sets the tone for negotiations over Britain's withdrawal from the European Union that are set to begin in Brussels on Monday.

In a statement released on her official 91st birthday, she said that while the day was traditionally a celebration, "it is hard to escape a very sombre national mood".

This year's edition was not as festive as usual, given the apartment-building fire, the bombing at Manchester Arena and the terrorist attacks on Westminster and London bridges, and the queen acknowledged that in her statement.

"As a nation, we continue to reflect and pray for all those who have been directly affected by these events", the Queen continued. They were accompanied by mom and dad, as well as Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Prince Harry and more of the extended royal family.

"We can confirm that during the Queen's birthday parade today a small number of soldiers fainted", the spokeswoman said.

The Trooping the Colour ceremony dates back to the reign of King Charles 11 from 1660 to 1668, when it was first performed.

The traditional celebrations came as The Queen, ahead of the event, issued a statement saying the United Kingdom has been "resolute in the face of adversity" following recent tragedies in London and Manchester.
