Ryan: "Let Mueller do his job"
18 June 2017, 12:45 | Opal Carroll
Trump attorney Jay Sekulow hinted to George Stephanopoulos that he found some of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's behavior troublesome
President Trump met with former FBI Director Robert Mueller to ask if he'd want to become the bureau's top boss again, just a day or two before Mueller was appointed special counsel over the investigation into Russian Federation meddling with the presidential election.
He added, "I'm not going to follow any order unless I believe those are lawful and appropriate orders".
As Robert Mueller continues hiring some of the nation's best prosecutors and begins to make headway into the Trump/Russia investigation, the possibility does exist that Trump may act.

When a good friend of Donald Trump told PBS Newshour Monday evening that the President is considering firing special counsel Robert Mueller, the spirit of Richard Nixon could be seen hovering over the White House.
He noted that Mueller can "only be fired for good cause", and it would be his job to put that good cause into writing. So far there is no hard evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors, but the bottom line is grounds for impeachment are whatever a majority of the House and two thirds of the Senate say it is. "These investigations are important", Ryan said.
"I don't think Newt said that", Gingrich told reporters.

Mueller is leading the investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election and potential ties between Moscow and Trump's presidential campaign.
The appearances, however, are likely to be overshadowed by Attorney General Jeff Sessions' public appearance at a Senate intelligence committee hearing. Ruddy never spoke to the President regarding this issue.
Both Fleischer and Gingrich had previously vouched for the character and integrity of Mueller, who was appointed Federal Bureau of Investigation director by Bush and whose term was extended an extra two years by Democratic President Barack Obama. "Don't waste time trying to undermine one of your few allies".
Rosenstein testified that he is the only one who has the authority to fire Mueller, who was appointed following the May 9 ousting of James Comey as Federal Bureau of Investigation director, and that he had seen no good cause to do so. "With respect to this subject, only the president or his attorneys are authorized to comment".
Ruddy also told CNN Spicer called him last night to ask him to issue a statement saying he didn't speak with Trump personally, but he refused.
White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said via email, "Chris speaks for himself".
"It would be the normal course if you were looking at this current situation and you have the former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation saying, 'Oh, the president said this to me, I was feeling uncomfortable about it, ' that [Mueller] would include a look at that", Wu said. Still, Gingrich said any special counsel with an agenda can "all of the sudden find something procedural and technical to latch onto".
