Taylor Swift Celebrates Sales Landmarks by Offering Catalog for Streaming

18 June 2017, 12:18 | Opal Carroll

However, her reversal comes reportedly as a thank-you to her fans after her most recent album 1989 passed the 10 million sales mark.

"Perry has taken to Twitter on several occasions to make statements which appear to relate to Swift, most notably in 2014 when she wrote, "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing", which everyone considered a response to the song".

Swift, 27, called for her music to be removed from Spotify in November 2014, claiming the streaming service did not fairly pay artists and rights holders for music streamed.

No streaming service besides Apple Music was able to stream "1989".

This is apparently done in celebration of Swift's 1989 album selling a whopping 10 million copies, which is a massive achievement by today's standards, and also gaining the 100 million song certification from the RIAA. Up until now, Apple Music has been the only place to listen to her music.

Pop star Taylor Swift is returning the entire back catalog of her music to the masses by streaming all her songs on all platforms again.

Katy Perry Reaches Record 100M Twitter Followers
The Perry that is fully present and awake now, she said, is working to confront those issues. Twitter celebrated the major milestone with a video of some of her tweets over the years.

Taylor Swift's music appeared back on Spotify at midnight - exactly the same time Witness was released - after nearly three years away from the service.

Fellow pop star Katy Perry happens to also be releasing her new album "Witness" on Friday.

But, c'mon. We all know it's just the latest battle attack in an ongoing war between Swift and Perry.

'I mean, I'm not Buddha-things irritate me. Only Apple Music was allowed to stream the music when it made a decision to pay royalties to artists during a free three-month trial.

"There's a situation", Perry told "Late Late Show" host James Corden last month. You've gotta admit - if this is intentional on Taylor's part, then that's a pretty epic middle finger. "Especially when someone tries to assassinate my character with little girls", she sniped.
