While every storm will produce lightning and heavy, the strongest could include wind gusts exceeding 50-60 miles per hour, and small hail. High pressure looks to build from Tuesday and Wednesday, giving us some relief from the upper 80s and low 90s.

Wednesday will be much drier and still warm with just a slight chance at a pop-up late day storm.

The threat for rain follows us into Monday, but a cold front will be moving into our Region by Monday afternoon.

Sunday night|Partly cloudy skies. Scattered strong to severe storms will be possible Monday evening.

While a thunderstorm can't be ruled out Tuesday afternoon, the bulk of the rain should fall early in the morning. Some of the leftover rain-cooled air associated with this system may kick off a few showers early Sunday morning.

With the clouds and rain, highs may be confined to the lower 80s in most areas Tuesday. The high temperature in the Triangle reached 86 on Saturday and the Sandhills warmed to 88. High: Mid-upper 60s. More sun by afternoon. However, the best chance of flooding will be in western MA and CT where a Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Monday afternoon into Monday night.

Around lunchtime more rain develops and heads eastward.

Friday will be mostly to partly sunny with a pop up PM storm possible.
