Police late Saturday announced three arrests in the slayings of two Maryland honor roll students found dead the eve of their high-school graduation - speculating the killings had been retaliation for one of the teens' rumored robbery.

Shadi Adi Najjar, 17, and Artem S. Ziberov, 18 - were found dead inside a vehicle in a Montgomery Village cul-de-sac on the night of June 5.

Hours before their graduation, Shadi Adi Najjar and Artem Ziberov were fatally shot.

Najjar and Ziberov were found shot to death on June 5 around 10:30pm in a blue Honda Civic in Montgomery Village, the night before they were supposed to graduate from Northwest High School.

"I can tell you one of the victims was shot ten times".

Roger Garcia, age 19, Jose Ovilson Canales-Yanez, age 25.

"It's believed that this is the robbery that Najjar was rumored to have participated in", Manger said.

Investigators say they found 30 shell casings at the scene, fired from multiple guns.

"Who would do that to two attractive young boys?"

'May God punish who did this to my son. According to police, it was the last communication Najjar had with anyone, about a half-hour before he was killed. The authorities believed that the thief referred to by Yanez's girlfriend is the homicide victim Shadi Adi Najja.

They linked the rumor to a report filed by Canales-Yanez's then-girlfriend, who told police on December 4 that the passenger in a blue Honda Civic had grabbed her iPad and dragged her about 50 feet with the auto.

The same friend told investigators Najjar told him he was going to sell Garcia a ticket to their graduation.

Authorities on Saturday executed a search warrant at Garcia-Gaona's residence, where they found a partial box of Glaser.40-caliber ammo.

'We think there's more information that folks out in the community have that can move us even further along with this case, ' he said. According to authorities, detectives have made arrests in this case but this is by no means should be interpreted that the investigation has concluded. "They were both excellent students who had a positive impact on those around them, and they will be greatly missed", principal Jimmy D'Andrea said in a statement.
