Rosenstein may need to recuse himself from Russia probe

19 June 2017, 12:32 | Guillermo Sutton

"Sad!" the president tweeted Friday.

This morning, Trump said via his favorite means of communication that he is being investigated by the man who told him to fire the FBI Director. "Witch Hunt", the president wrote.

In another tweet Friday morning, Trump said it's "sad" that seven months of investigations and hearings into possible links between his campaign and Russian Federation have been fruitless.

President Trump is tweeting his displeasure with the direction of the Russian Federation probe, which reportedly is now veering into an obstruction of justice investigation.

Trump has been growing increasingly agitated with Rosenstein over the last day or two in private White House meetings and in conversations with friends, multiple people have told CNN. Trump said on Twitter, appearing to refer to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

Deputy Attorney-General Rod Rosenstein submitted a widely circulated memo to the President last month raising concerns over Mr Comey's performance, but Mr Trump later asserted that he had already made the decision himself to fire Mr Comey.

Speaking to Harris Faulkner, Wallace said Trump once again kept Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation at the top of the headlines. Mr Rosenstein wrote a memo criticising former Federal Bureau of Investigation chief James Comey's handling of the email server scandal that was initially used by the White House to justify the firing of Mr Comey.

USA student's imprisonment in North Korea 'truly awful thing': Donald Trump
Danny Gratton was the only witness to Otto Warmbier's arrest at Pyongyang airport, but the USA government never contacted him. Rodman has met Kim on some but not all of his previous trips, and it remains unclear if he met with the leader this time.

Although he didn't name anyone, Trump appeared to be pointing the finger at Rod Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general who began overseeing the Russian Federation investigation after Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from it. If Trump is found guilty of obstruction of justice, that would likely be grounds for impeachment.

He also claimed that the person investigating him advised him to fire Comey, though it's unclear whom he was referring to.

Trump has repeatedly complained about the probe, saying Democrats can not accept his election win.

Now the probe has expanded to include investigating whether Trump attempted to obstruct justice when he fired Comey.

The Twitter attacks came as Vice President Mike Pence hired a personal lawyer to represent him in the intensifying investigation.

"With all of the illegal acts that took place in the Clinton campaign and the Obama administration, there was never a special counsel appointed", Trump had tweeted. The transition, a nonprofit structurally separate from the Trump campaign, continues to operate with a small staff. The memo asks for preservation of electronic communications and data, telephone logs, audio recordings, videos, calendars and other items. First, it is the president himself acknowledging that he is, in fact, under investigation for possible obstruction of justice-something even on Thursday the White House would not acknowledge.
