Weather service issues flash flooding watch for NY metropolitan area

Denver metro area temperatures expected to climb to near 100 degrees by mid-week

As a result, NWS Sterling has issued a Flash Flood Watch from 3:00 until 9:00 pm today for most of the DC metro area.

A flash flood watch is in effect for parts of the NY area for Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

The areas under the greatest threat are those along and to the west of Interstate 95, forecasters wrote. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain.

Once the storms pass, the rest of the week with be partly sunny with temperatures in the 80s and a chance of showers.
