Half of Republicans would back postponing 2020 election if Trump proposed it

CBS News Poll

CBS News Poll

And not only do 78 percent of Americans want the Trump administration to do what it can to make ObamaCare work, but that includes 52 percent of Republicans and 51 percent of Trump supporters.

"Republican senators who have been a thorn in President Trump's side are beginning to see the political consequences of opposing the White House as pro-Trump activists start to mobilize", says the story retweeted by the president. Almost two-thirds of the public oppose the presidents negotiating tactics, the survey said.

The vote against the Obama health care law looms large for 21 GOP lawmakers, including Iowa congressmen David Young and Rod Blum, who represent competitive congressional districts where Democrat Hillary Clinton won or came close in last year's presidential election.

Just 21 percent of respondents — but 49 percent of Republicans — want the GOP to continue working on a plan to repeal and replace Obamacare, the survey said.

In fact, says the report, the majority of Americans think that health insurance companies charging higher premiums in certain marketplaces will have a negative impact on them and their family, while fewer (31 percent) say it will have no impact. Then, again on Thursday: "Mitch, get back to work and put Repeal & Replace, Tax Reform & Cuts and a great Infrastructure Bill on my desk for signing".

Ominously for the GOP, 6 in 10 say Trump and congressional Republicans are responsible for any upcoming health care problems since they control government. Trump's recent attacks on McConnell, therefore, are calculated to distance himself from the senator, should the latter fail to get new health care legislation to the president's desk.

The health law is more popular than ever with 52 percent of respondents saying they hold a favorable view of it.

Burnley stun nine-man Chelsea
Nevertheless, Burnley managed to see out the closing stages to claim a famous victory at Stamford Bridge . All seemed lost when Fabregas earned a second yellow card for lunging in on Cork nine minutes from time.

Still, confusion about the law remains.

Even though only about 10 million people receive coverage through the marketplaces, most (60%) Americans believe that their family will be negatively affected by rising premiums in the marketplaces, twice the share (31%) who say it would have no impact.

The poll was "based on telephone interviews conducted august 2-6, 2017, with a random sample of 1,017 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 USA states and the District of Columbia".
