Ellison: Kim Jong-Un Is 'Acting More Responsibly' Than Trump
Things are quickly heating up between the USA and North Korea, and there are no signs it will slow down after the Pentagon said Friday the military stands ready to "fight tonight", if necessary.
Discussing the escalating war of words between the US and North Korea over the latter's rogue nuclear program, Ellison raised eyebrows by saying the North Korea's despotic leader was acting better than the USA president. "You have this guy making bellicose threats against somebody else who has very little to lose over there". When you hear words come out of his mouth, it seems like they could come out of the mouth of Kim Jong-un.
Trump said Thursday that he might need to be "tougher" than his original promise of "fire and fury" if North Korea continues to threaten the United States. "If you don't want to be a deer in the headlights, start calling for diplomacy immediately".
The Labour leader, a long time anti-war campaigner, said the result of a nuclear strike would go on for decades, adding: "I ask them both, calm down".
TSX starts lower as US-North Korea tensions weigh
Non-OPEC production will get a health check later today when the Baker Hughes U.S. rig count is published at 1:00 p.m. The market indexes wavered between small gains and losses for much of the morning, then veered lower by afternoon.
After the panel wrapped up, Ellison walked back his remarks to Dave Weigel of The Washington Post.
"It's tailor-made for somebody to misuse", Ellison said.
The Labour leader warned: "We can not play fast and loose with nuclear weapons and nuclear threats".
Ellison's prediction was correct, as the Republican National Committee's rapid-response director, Michael Ahrens, told the Post, "With radical beliefs like these, Democrats need to decide whether Keith Ellison deserves to speak for their party going forward". Ellison, a Minnesota Democrat, later retracted that but still said he thinks Trump is "irresponsible".

Dota 2 is normally played as a 5-vs-5 team game, so limiting the bot to a 1-on-1 match greatly reduces the complexity. But after his defeat, Dendi said the bot " feels a little like [a] human, but a little like something else ", too.
