Pakistani officials say a roadside bomb blast has killed a government administrator and six tribal police officers in a tribal area on the border with Afghanistan.

The levy personnel was on routine patrolling of the area when the militants detonated an improvised explosive device through remote control as their vehicle reached the spot, it said.

Bajaur borders the volatile eastern Afghan province of Kunar where fugitive Pakistani militants have taken refugee and extremists loyal to Afghanistan's branch of Islamic State are also well-entrenched.

On August 11, a powerful bomb blast killed at least three people and wounded more than 20 others in the Char Mang district of Bajaur, authorities said. The driver was injured in the blast, the political administration said.

Chelsea vs Arsenal: What we learnt from Liverpool defeat - Wenger
Arsenal are likely to recall a host of first-team regulars for the short trip to face the Premier League champions. Francis Coquelin is out with a hamstring problem and Santi Cazorla is ruled out with an ankle injury.

Bajaur Agency has seen intense fighting between militants and security forces in the past.

Pakistan army has launched a series of operations since 2014 against Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan in the tribal region pushing them into Afghanistan, where they reportedly have established bases to carry out attacks on security forces and civilians inside Pakistan.

However, a recent huddle of Pakistani diplomats in key world capitals had called for more careful approach towards ties with the U.S. and avoiding any confrontation with the country.
