Jay-Z dedicates ‘The Story of O.J.’ to Colin Kaepernick at NYC concert
The free agent quarterback is now unsigned and many believe it is because of his stance on injustice.
"For being named this week's Community MVP, the NFLPA will make a $10,000 contribution to Kaepernick's foundation or charity of choice along with an in-kind donation to him on behalf of our supporting partner Delta Private Jets", the association announced Friday, Sept. 15.
"If you know this song, I want you to sing it so loud he can hear you in heaven", Jay-Z said before performing the Grammy-winning mashup "Numb/Encore", standing still and holding the microphone close with both of his hands. "I've always watched him and admired him, the way that he's played". He came to our stadium and beat us and took his team to the Super Bowl in 2012.
"He accomplished a lot in the pros as a player", Brady added.
While Kaepernick still has not been signed to an National Football League roster, the numbers would seem to indicate that he deserves another shot, as a starter or certainly as a backup.
Kaepernick has been outspoken on issues of racial and social justice. However, given his resume, it's pretty ridiculous to argue that he doesn't deserve to be unemployed based strictly on merit.
Beyond the impact Kaepernick has had in putting discussion about police brutality front and center in America, he also has truly been tirelessly active in communities. Many believe that he hasn't been able to get a job since largely because of his status as an activist.
