House Speaker Paul Ryan adjusts a podium sign at a news conference with House Republican leaders after a closed conference meeting
He said he wants the U.S.to start 2018 with a new tax system.
An outline of the Republican tax reform plan will be released the week of September 25, House Speaker Paul Ryan said Wednesday, offering the most concrete details to date about the much anticipated plan.
The White House says President Donald Trump's dinner with Republican and Democratic senators to talk taxes was "highly productive" and will "spur constructive discussion".
Over a dinner of Chinese food, Trump and the Democratic leaders also discussed issues related to U.S.
But finding out how that Wednesday night meeting went depends on whom you ask.
The announcement of the working group comes shortly after Democrats declared they struck an agreement with the president to codify safeguards for "DREAMers" while crafting a border security package that doesn't include funding for a border wall.
In New York, Martin Batalla Vidal, who came to the USA with his parents when he was 7, said he's taken college classes, does "meaningful" nursing home work and pays taxes. "But at the same time, I think it's only reasonable - it makes flawless common sense - that we deal with the problem that was the root cause of this, which is we do not have operational control of our borders", he said, adding: "This is a broken system that needs to be fixed".
"The president is trying to cut a deal that I think would be good for the country as a whole".
Another person familiar with the meeting said that as the president and Schumer were going back and forth, hashing out the confines of the agreement, the president kept referencing DACA, while Schumer kept talking about the DREAM Act. But many Democrats oppose lowering the cap on annual legal immigration.
If a deal risks alienating the president's base, said Sen.
Schumer, too, has relished the deal-making; he was caught on a live microphone on the Senate floor Thursday gleefully telling McConnell, "He likes us!"

After combining for 32 carries and 238 yards - 166 by Warren - against San Jose State, the two had just nine carries for 24 yards. But given the circumstances, it's hard to have asked for anything more than what the Trojans and Longhorns delivered this time .
