The young nurse complained of a stomach ache on Wednesday by Friday she was in a coma

Ms Clarke was placed in an induced coma due to organ failure and septicaemia, with her sister starting a fundraiser to bring her home for emergency treatment.

Her husband, Chase Clarke, told Fairfax she was 'outspoken, smart, courageous, and had the biggest heart'.

"We wish to express our honest sympathy to her husband, family and loved ones".

The family had been waiting for an intensive care unit helicopter to fly Clarke to New Zealand but she died before it arrived, going into cardiac arrest five times in the hour before her death.

'You (were a) lovely girl and incredible sister you will be deeply missed, ' he wrote.

"[It hit me] when she turned up to the cargo centre in a box", Mr Clarke said.

It was later confirmed on the fundraising page that costs to transport Kelly's body home will be covered by insurance, and that donations "will go a long way to help the family in the hard times to come".

Mrs and Mr Clarke were on their honeymoon when Mrs Clarke died.

Within half an hour, her condition had deteriorated to the point where Chase knew she had to go to hospital.

Malala attends her first lecture at Oxford
The 20-year-old Nobel Prize for Peace victor tweeted a photo of her laptop, textbooks and a pencil on Monday, October 9. While living under the Taliban rule, she wrote a blog under a pseudonym which featured her thoughts on girls education.

The report says it was initially suspected that she had contracted typhoid, however blood tests revealed that the disease was not the cause of her death.

A spokeswoman for The Children's Hospital at Westmead said Kelly-who worked as a post-operative nurse-would be sorely missed.

"The Children's Hospital at Westmead extends our deepest condolences and sympathies to Kelly's family, friends and colleagues, in particular, her husband".

"We got a quotation to get her back in a private plane ... for $61,000", he said.

The couple had been holidaying on the South Pacific island in the lead-up to Mr Clarke's best mate's wedding and had conquered a number of phobias together.

The couple were married in April.

Mr Clarke said his wife was intelligent and loving.

"I said "stop" and pushed everyone away and me and her mother just held her", he said.

Fijian authorities will conduct an autopsy on Clarke's body.
