Facebook outages reported throughout United States

While Facebook mobile appears to be working, the mobile Instagram version is leaving users in the dust at the moment. The sites are also recording complaints about Instagram being down.

Social networking giant Facebook and its subsidiary Instagram on Wednesday suffered a massive outage in different parts of the world.

Down Detectors has recorded a huge spike in reports of Facebook outages today.

A number of users reported that the social network was back up after 1 p.m. ET. The hashtag '#facebookdown' is trending on Twitter in several countries, including India.
