Ben Affleck, Matt Damon Say They're Sickened By Harvey Weinstein Allegations
Ben Affleck spoke out against Harvey Weinstein Tuesday, stating on Facebook that he is "saddened and angry" at the "completely unacceptable" allegations of assault and harassment against the producer. Hilarie Burton revealed that he grabbed her boobs during an appearance on TRL in the early 2000s, after a Twitter fan brought up the incident. "Everyone forgot though." The 35-year-old actress herself then weighed in: "I didn't forget", she wrote, adding that she was just "a kid" when it happened.
She then tweeted a promotional video for TRL Uncensored in which she refers to an incident in which someone, presumably Affleck, "tweaks" her left breast, captioned, "Girls".
"@benaffleck "GODDAMNIT! I TOLD HIM TO STOP DOING THAT" you said that to my face". So I did, and that's what I said to her. Later in the clip, Affleck says to her, "How old are you-19?"
The actress, who is now starring on Fox's Lethal Weapon reboot and expecting her second child with The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, then shared a video of her discussing the moment in a video that aired TRL outtakes. Seducer, Ben Affleck had approached her for a hug inappropriate, passing his hand around his body and touching his chest.
Affleck and his brother Casey had been called out on Twitter for their silence by actress and alleged Weinstein victim Rose McGowan. After Ben denounced Harvey's behavior in a personal statement, actor Hilarie Burton came forward claiming that Ben groped her while she was a correspondent on TRL and even provided a clip from TRL to help connect to her claims.
Hours after Affleck issued his statement saying, "I find myself asking what I can do to make sure this doesn't happen to others", McGowan tweeted at Affleck, alleging that he'd seemed aware of Weinstein's mistreatment of women.
"The additional allegations of assault that I read this morning made me sick".
