PHThe new car features the brand's most powerful 5.0-litre V8 engine
Of more benefit to drivers, though, is the car's all-electric driving range of up to 31 miles, its claimed 101mpg fuel economy and its Carbon dioxide emissions of 64g/km.
A video published on YouTube yesterday (below) appears to show a leaked trailer for Land Rover's new full-sized Range Rover and, unsurprisingly, they look very similar to those Land Rover wrought on the new Sport.
On sale in Australia from March next year, the luxury SUV range will be strengthened by the P400e PHEV that combines a 221kW/400Nm 2.0-litre "Ingenium" turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with an 85kW electric motor for total system outputs of 297kW/640Nm.
Like the updated Sport, the Range Rover gets a two-touchscreen system up front.
Range Rover claim the PHEV can drive for up to 51km on pure electric power, and that the 13.1kWh lithium-ion battery can be charged in 2 hours 45 minutes with a 32amp wall box or 7 hours and 30 minutes when using the standard home charging points.
Acceleration from 0-62mph officially takes 6.8 seconds but, perhaps more importantly, the P400e Range Rover has an official economy figure of 101mpg, emits just 64g/km of Carbon dioxide (for a low 13% Benefit-in-Kind tax rate) and can travel in near-silent electric-only mode for up to 31 miles on a single charge.
Parallel Hybrid is the default driving mode, combining petrol and electric drive.
Google uncovers ads by Russian operatives
Google discovered ads worth of $53,000 with political materials bought from Russian internet IP, addresses, or currency. The ads appeared in search results of Google or on websites excluding its own network of sites.
On the sides there are new accents and vent trims, which can be specified in satin body colour or satin graphite "Atlas".
Wider seats also offering heating, ventilation and massage settings are complimented by the ability to recline up to 40 degrees.
Inside is where some of the more significant changes have been made, with the flagship Range Rover adopting the new Touch Pro Duo dual-screen infotainment system that debuted in the smaller Velar. Comprising two 10-inch touchscreens, this configurations allots control of the Range Rover's various off-roading and climate systems to the lower screen, while the top screen takes care of infotainment and navigation duties - although there's some crossover between the two screens. The front passenger seat, for example, can be controlled from the rear, allowing the occupant sitting behind to give themselves more room.
Range Rover says the new headlights are more energy efficient and "designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle", while accompanying standard features include automatic on/off, signature LED daytime-running lights and powered washers.
That means the arrival of the same multi-screens we first saw in the Velar and which are now on the new Range Rover Sport, as well as, we assume. updated technology. Along with the aforementioned SVAutobiography Dyamic and P400e PHEV, there is a 3.0-litre turbo diesel V6, which produces 190kW and 600Nm, a 4.4-litre twin-turbo diesel V8 producing 250kW and 740Nm, a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 with 380kW and 450Nm, and finally a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 pumping out 386kW and 625kW.
