Ashish Nehra India vs Australia

Plagued by injuries, Nehra's career could not touch the heights it was expected to scale but he played his role in some memorable triumphs for Indian cricket.

The official intimated that Nehra would have called it quits after the third T20I in Australia but for there being a match at his home ground so soon afterwards.

Nehra didn't play in the second T20I against Australia which India lost.

A senior source at the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed to the PTI (Press Trust of India) that the 38-year-old bowler has intimidated his decision to retire to team skipper Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri. Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have been in great form in limited over formats of the game recently and that because of that, Nehra has been warming the bench.

"Obviously, there is some element of surprise. But he feels, it's the right time to move on". One thought that he would like to continue till the home season against Sri Lanka. Can't get bigger than playing in Delhi and retiring there.

The three-match rubber is tied 1-1 with the decider on Friday (October 13) in Hyderabad.

Adrian Peterson believes he has 4-5 years left
Talking to reporters after his first practice with the Cardinals on Wednesday, Peterson declined to comment on the lawsuit. Not to say that wasn't necessarily the case in New Orleans because me and (coach Sean) Payton, we talked.

The Delhi-born pacer made his debut for India in 1999 and has since gone on to play 17 Tests, 120 ODIs and 26 T20Is for his country.

Earlier, Nehra was quoted as saying that he wants to play for another two years, but now it seems that that is not going to happen.

He formed a potent new-ball bowling partnership with fellow left-armer Zaheer Khan at the turn of the century, but persistent injuries - which resulted in surgeries on his ankle and knee - hampered a stop-start career.

The Delhi-native has collected 44, 157 and 34 wickets in Test, ODI and T20I cricket in his 18-year worldwide career.

He was also a part of the 2011 World Cup-winning squad with a match-turning performance in the semi-final against Pakistan.
