Robbie Lawler vs. Rafael dos Anjos to headline UFC on FOX 26
Robbie Lawler will look to move one step closer to regaining the UFC welterweight title at the end of the year.
The main event could very well be a title eliminator, meaning the victor would likely get a crack at current 170-pound champion Tyron Woodley, who won the belt off Lawler via knockout at UFC 201 in July of 2016.
Lawler recently got back in the win column after a high-profile setback, outpointing Donald Cerrone in July at UFC 214.
Who do you think comes out on top in the UFC on Fox 26 main event?
Lawler, who is now ranked as the number one contender for the title, has a 28-11 record with one no contest. He is now 6-1 over his last seven including wins vs. Carlos Condit, Rory MacDonald and Johny Hendricks. In his next most recent outing, he defeated former Strikeforce champion Tarec Saffiedine by decision.
For dos Anjos, the Brazilian will be looking to keep his undefeated streak going in the 170-pound weight division.
Since moving up, dos Anjos is 2-0, including a one-sided submission victory over Neil Magny at UFC 215 last month. Cirkunov had won eight fights in a row before being knocked out in 28 seconds by Volkan Oezdemir on May 28th in Stockholm.
The UFC has yet to announce the card's bout order for the December 16 event. This is a fight that has the potential to be fantastic, and the victor, could very well lock up a title shot.
Other bouts planned for the night include Glover Teixeira vs. Misha Cirkunov, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Jared Cannonier and Tim Elliott vs. Justin Scoggins.
