LiAngelo Ball Arrested In China for Shoplifting ... UCLA Cooperating with Officials

An anonymous USA official told the Post that charges against the three players have been reduced and that the case is headed toward a resolution.

Trump personally asked Chinese President Xi Jinping to help resolve the situation, according to the Washington Post.

Last week, the trio were arrested for stealing sunglasses from Louis Vuitton and then it was later revealed they stole from Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Salvatore Ferragamo stores as well. Chief of Staff John F. Kelly has reportedly served as an intermediary between UCLA and Chinese officials in the hopes of bringing the players back to the United States quickly.

A White House official confirmed with CBS News that "the issue did come up" in Mr. Trump and Xi's "exchange". Xi promised the players will receive fair treatment and their cases would be handled hastily, Nakamura reports, citing an anonymous USA official. However, the charges against the players were reduced and the case was headed toward a resolution, a source told ESPN.

Man United only signed Owen after missing out on Benzema
Benzema's extended absence means he is yet to play alongside the prodigiously talented Kylian Mbappe, something he wishes had happened at Real Madrid this season.

A source with firsthand knowledge of the investigation told ESPN that the three players could be in Hangzhou for "a week or two".

"It has provided a real distraction and unwanted publicity, which distracts from what overall has been a tremendous experience and a tremendous week for the UCLA and Georgia Tech students", Scott said before the game. UCLA is one of the top basketball programs in the country, and the Ball family has become well known in the sports world, including LiAngelo's outspoken father, LaVar Ball.

LiAngelo Ball's brother, Los Angeles Laker Lonzo Ball, told reporters his family has remained in China while the case is pending.
