GQ names Kaepernick ‘Citizen of the Year

The magazine will release a cover story for a different person of the year every day through Thursday.

Free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been named GQ's magazine's "Citizen of the Year" for his activism.

The ex-San Francisco 49ers signal caller is joined by "Wonder Woman" actress Gal Gadot, Golden State Warriors superstar forward Kevin Durant and "The Late Show" host Stephen Colbert. He also posed for a series of photos in Harlem.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) gets FCC certification
Starting with the FCC certification (via mobilexpose ), it reveals that the smartphone will bear a model number of SM-A530N. Likewise, we know that Samsung will stick to the same pattern and launch the Galaxy A series smartphones next year too.

Kaepernick garnered national attention past year by taking a knee during the national anthem as a means of protesting racial inequality and police brutality.

Kaepernick took to social media on Monday morning to share the exciting cover, and while there is no shortage of haters on Twitter, the majority of responses to the magazine's choice of featuring him were overwhelmingly grateful. A number of players this season have continued to kneel, raise fists, sit or outright stay off the field during national anthems this year. As of today, he remains unsigned and has filed a complaint against team owners; he says they colluded against him because of the protests - aimed at police brutality against African-Americans and other issues.

GQ's editors spoke with 10 activists, writers and influencers, including Ava DuVernay, J. Cole, Harry Belafonte and Linda Sarsour, about Kaepernick's character, work and impact. "And more important than the money, he was living his dream".
