Biden unsure if 2020 run 'appropriate thing for me to do'
Former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden on Monday left the door open to a presidential run to challenge Republican President Donald Trump in the 2020 election and said he is focused now on boosting Democrats in the 2018 midterm races.
"I've done it a long time", the former senator from DE said. "And I'd much prefer to be helping someone turn it around than being the guy trying to turn it around", Biden said in an interview with Snapchat's "Good Luck America", according to The Associated Press, which was given a clip of the exchange.
Biden has fielded questions about a potential run since past year when he said he could have beaten Donald Trump in the 2016 election. He told NBC's "Today" show in an interview that he was not yet ready to enter a political contest.
United Kingdom parliament offered vote on Brexit deal
Instead, any rejection or amendment of the Bill would mean the United Kingdom leaving the bloc without a trade deal. For months Labour's been calling on ministers to guarantee Parliament a final say on the withdrawal agreement.
Speculation around Biden, who has garnered a reputation for popularity with the white working class voters seen as delivering Trump the presidency, has also centered on what could have happen if he challenged Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination past year.
"I had planned on running for president and although it would have been a very hard primary, I think I could have won", he said in March. I was for Hillary.
Biden, who will turn 75 on November 20, declined to seek the Democratic nomination for last year's presidential election in the wake of his son's death.
Biden's new book, published by Flatiron Books, is due to be released on Tuesday.
