Platt says Warner began belittling and name-calling him and slapped him on his shoulder
The incident that led to her dismissal happened on Friday after 26-year-old Uber driverShaun Platt picked her up outside a Dallas pub. He accuses Warner of berating him with insults, slapping him on the shoulder and accusing him of kidnapping her after he ended the ride and called police, The Dallas Morning News reported, with a link to the driver's audio recording. Platt posted to Facebook an audio recording of the encounter.
On November 13, Faith Johnson, the Criminal District Attorney for Dallas County, Texas, announced in a press release that she was firing Jody Warner as a result of the incident. "I encourage you, the public, to look beyond this incident and recognize that our prosecutors work hard each day to seek justice on your behalf", Johnson said.
After the arrival of police, Platt said he was "totally afraid", believing he would be arrested while Warner was "let off the hook". "I'm a district attorney". "You're kidnapping me. You're committing a third- to first-degree felony, so do you want to take me home?".
The driver then asked the passenger to get out, but she refused, telling him either to drop her off at her house or to wait for the cops to arrive.

"Then we'll wait for the cops, Jesus Christ, you're a [expletive] idiot in a stupid [expletive] hat", the passenger continues. "I'm sorry it cost her her job". Instead, the Dallas prosecutor declines, claiming that the driver was "recklessly keeping" her from where she was going. "It was not how I expected the night to go", Platt said. "I want the cops to come so that they can fuck you up, that's what I want". Platt said he tried to initiate small talk with her, asking if she was excited for the holidays. "I cringe whenever I hear or think about the things that I said that night", Warnertold ABC News.
"Take me home, dude". Thus, he called 911 and hit record, according to the Dallas newspaper. "I said, 'ma'am you need to exit my vehicle.' She said 'you're supposed to take me home.' I said 'I understand that but you just crossed the line, '" Platt said. A Dallas police spokesperson told Huffington Post, "We're still trying to gather information about this case".
Assistant District Attorney Jody Warner was sacked Monday over the Friday night incident. He told the Dallas Morning News that Warner told him to deviate from the directions his Global Positioning System gave for her home, and he got lost. Overnight, Warner denied she ever hit Platt.
Frizell said her decision to stand by Warner was not political but rather to offer support to someone she described as an "excellent prosecutor". She says "no, make a right here.' I said 'I'm required by Uber to follow the GPS.' She said 'no, make a right here" and she became kinda belligerent. While he was on hand Tuesday to speak in favor of Warner, Schulte is not actually representing her at this time.
