Neither WikiLeaks nor Trump Jr.'s attorney, Alan Futerfas, immediately responded to Ars' request for comment. He was likely referring to longtime Republican strategist and informal Trump adviser Roger Stone's tweet from a day earlier, in which Stone wrote that "Wednesday@HillaryClinton is done".

Looking at his other tweets, Trump Jr. tweeted about WikiLeaks a lot during October 2016 with stories mainly about Hillary Clinton campaign leaks.

The Atlantic found the organization was sending direct messages to Trump Jr.'s Twitter account for 10 months, up until July 2017.

At the time, rumors were widespread that WikiLeaks would soon release damaging Clinton-related emails.

Gizmodo reached out to WikiLeaks for comment via a Twitter DM. During that time Trump Jr. repeatedly pushed out messages from an organization that the American intelligence community believed was actively collaborating with Russian intelligence.

"Hiya, it'd be great if you guys could comment on/push this story", WikiLeaks wrote to Trump Jr. on October 3, 2016.

John O'Shea on Repbulic of Ireland v Denmark play-off
Earlier on Monday, Ireland midfielder David Meyler had said: 'I only see one outcome, I think Ireland are going to the World Cup. After describing the game as "a physical battle", O'Neill said: "The players put a big effort into the game".

"The discussion can be transformative as it exposes media corruption, primary corruption, PAC corruption, etc.", the message added. They ranged from questions to a request for the Trump campaign to "push" a story to requests for leaks, but he appears not to have answered majority. But it is clear that Jr. was in contact with WikiLeaks right before the Podesta hack and that he took that information right up the food chain, to Bannon, Conway, and Kushner, if not to Trump himself. Even still, questions remain about why Wikileaks so actively sought out his cooperation and assistance, at one point audaciously requesting he help get his father to urge Australia to make Julian Assange its ambassador to the U.S.

"Hi Don. Hope you're doing well!" "It would be real easy and helpful for your dad to suggest that Australia appoint Assange ambassador to DC".

It continued, suggesting that Trump could frame the request as follows: "That's a real smart tough guy and the most famous australian [sic] you have!"

In December, WikiLeaks wrote: "In relation to Mr. Assange: Obama/Clinton placed pressure on Sweden, UK and Australia (his home country) to illicitly go after Mr. Assange".

As the investigation into Russian collusion continues to loom over the White House, Twitter messages obtained by The Atlantic on Monday reveal that Donald Trump Jr. communicated with WikiLeaks on a number of occasions, starting in September last year and spanning until at least July this year. WikiLeaks attempted to convince Trump turn his emails with publicist Rob Goldstone about the meeting over to WikiLeaks. WikiLeaks argued that it would benefit Trump Jr. and the Trump administration if the emails were publicized via its website, rather than the mainstream media, which WikiLeaks said would spin the story to reflect on Trump in a negative light.
