College basketball's governing body reversed itself and has declared the freshman eligible to play this season, starting with the Wolfpack's game Tuesday night against Bryant.

The announcement ends a monthslong process of waiver requests and appeals after Beverly, an incoming freshman, chose to transfer from Ohio State after Thad Matta's abrupt firing this summer. Eventually, he decided that without Matta, Columbus was not where he wanted to be and headed to N.C. State. But the NCAA twice refused to budge for Beverly, so he hired a lawyer to apply additional pressure on the NCAA.

The NCAA issued a statement announcing the decision Tuesday, less than two hours before the Wolfpack hosted Bryant. But that triggered the NCAA designation as an undergraduate transfer as opposed to an incoming freshman. Beverly left school and transferred to N.C. State in July. "He is very grateful", Tompsett said.

Israel arrests Islamic Jihad's leader in West Bank
Referring to the Israeli operation on October 30, he said that Israel "destroyed a terror tunnel in Israeli sovereign territory". He was due to undergo two surgeries as a result of a health condition, the family noted.

"Braxton also appreciates the public support he's received from so many people across the country and the media outlets that have reported on his case", Tompsett said. "Braxton is ready to compete for the NC State Wolfpack!" Beverly was taking summer school classes when Matta was let go.

The NCAA last month denied Beverly's request to waive the rule.

After a waiver request and subsequent appeal, Beverly was still ineligible. "It was the right choice for a young man caught in a hard situation not of his own making".
