Olivier Giroud out of France's friendly with Germany through injury

Olivier Giroud says he has no regrets about decision to stay at Arsenal after scoring again for France

Ramsey played 90 minutes as the Dragons suffered a 2-0 defeat against France in Paris, but the Arsenal star has since pulled out of the group ahead of the game in Cardiff.

Former Everton manager Ronald Koeman revealed Giroud was on the verge of a move to Goodison Park in the summer before deciding he wanted to stay in the capital, suggesting that Arsene Wenger saw the Frenchman's time at the Emirates as limited after the signing of Alexandre Lacazette.

Alexis Sanchez's likely departure next year should indirectly provide further first-team opportunities and Wenger very much wants Giroud to stay, even despite his general preference this season in the league for Lacazette.

But Giroud, who has scored 101 goals in 241 games since signing for Arsenal in 2012, has indicated he will stay put and says he is not now questioning his future.

"I'm sure Arsene was watching, especially because Aaron [Ramsey] was playing too", he said.

The French global is yet to start a Premier League game this season, with Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette both preferred up front.

The news is worrying for the Gunners, who face bitter rivals Tottenham in a vital north London derby on Saturday, where sixth-placed Arsenal find themselves trailing their neighbours by four points and three spots in the table.
