The Division's Big “Resistance” Update Hits Tomorrow, Will Be Followed by a Free Weekend

The Division Details Update 1.8; All DLC Free This Weekend

Ubisoft has just announced that "Resistance", Update 1.8 for Tom Clancy's The Division, is now available to everyone.

Ubisoft said last week that the 1.8 update to The Division would be out sometime this week. There will also be two new game modes.

Tom Clancy's The Division Update 1.8 has been code-named Resistance by the developers, with the new area of the map being West Side Pier. The free weekend will end on Sunday, December 10 at 10:59 p.m. PST, and the game's three expansions will also be free to play for everyone during this period. Resistance will pit Division agents against an unprecedented alliance of enemy factions, challenging players to fight off waves of powerful foes and formidable bosses. The latter is a wave-based survival mode where players must hold out against continuous AI-controlled enemy assaults. Keep an eye on the Gold section of your Xbox One dashboard if you don't want to miss the upcoming free weekend.

Ubisoft Teases Chocobo For Assassin's Creed: Origins
The update is the third of the Trials of the Gods, placing the main character Bayek in a battle against three Egyptian deities. An update regarding Assassin's Creed: Origins DLC via the official Ubisoft website has hinted at an unexpected collaboration.

Skirmish (PvP mode) - In Skirmish, two teams of four players compete against each other to get the highest number of kills before the time expires. Defeated enemies drop resources that can either be used to set up defenses or extend the battlefield. If you already own The Division, you'll have free access to every add-on included as DLC in the game's Season Pass from 5 December until the 10th.

In addition, this update lets players upgrade their gear, tweaks the difficulty of the Underground DLC, and reworks how going Rogue in the Dark Zone works. The full patch notes provide a detailed breakdown of what's in store, or you can crash-course your way through it with this video.
