He also mentioned that his country is willing to work with the United States and other related parties to solve the region's nuclear issue. Nikki Haley said during an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council (UNSC).

The meeting, expected to be held on December 11, will mark the fourth time since 2014 that the council holds an annual meeting on North Korea's dismal rights record.

The US has warned that North Korea's government will be "utterly destroyed" if war breaks out.

In addition, the Yalv River Bridge, which represents China and North Korea's friendship and is the main crossing point between the two countries, was temporarily closed last week.

Haley said the United States has asked China to cut off oil supply to North Korea, a drastic step that Beijing - the North's neighbor and sole major trading partner - has so far refrained from doing.

The state-run Global Times newspaper said in an editorial Friday that China "will not impose any additional unilateral punishments on North Korea", adding that an oil embargo "might even trigger a humanitarian crisis".

Earlier this year, reports had emerged stating that Russian Federation was mobilising troops and equipment along its border with North Korea in anticipation of a U.S. strike. "We now turn to President Xi to also take that stance", she said.

While it's true that China could intervene, Wicker further said, allowing Kim Jong-un to flaunt the United States gives China "leverage" with the US and other countries who need its help.

"We are already seeing signs of problems, of cashflow problems in North Korea".

"The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is ready to conduct negotiations with the U.S.in conditions of parity and with Russia's participation as a third party", Vitaliy Pashin, a member of the Russian parliamentary delegation told state news agency Itar-Tass. "It seems, they have done everything on objective, to make (North Korean leader) Kim Jong Un lose control and make another desperate move", he said.

In a speech in Missouri about taxes, Trump, who has traded insults with the North in the past, referred to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un with a derisive nickname.

The Hwasong 15 missile launched on Wednesday flew higher than any other previously tested by the North before falling in Japanese waters.

North Korea, which conducted its sixth and largest nuclear bomb test in September, has tested dozens of ballistic missiles under Kim's leadership in defiance of worldwide sanctions. "As the head of [North Korea's] parliament told us, they are prepared to live under these sanctions for another 100 years".

"Our attitude (towards USA proposals for more sanctions) is negative".

China's leadership is moving toward accepting North Korea's nuclear weapons and the US should follow suit, the Sunday Times quoted a Chinese expert as saying. Instead, the U.S. suddenly announced it would be holding the drills in October, then November, then December.

In just three months, South Korea hosts the Winter Olympics at a resort just 80 km (50 miles) from the heavily fortified border with North Korea.
