Creek Fire burns 1,000 acres in L.A. foothills Evacuation orders in place

A brush fire burning in the Sylmar area has prompted officials to ask several residents to evacuate their homes early Tuesday morning.

Los Angeles County Fire Department officials confirmed the three-alarm fire, which was burning at least 2,500 acres as sustained winds were at 35 miles per hour.

The fire first broke out around 4 a.m. near Little Tujunga Canyon Road and rapidly spread as a result of Santa Ana winds.
