John Travolta's 'Gotti' Biopic Gets Whacked By Lionsgate 10 Days Before Its Release

Lionsgate Drops John Travolta's Mob Drama “Gotti,” Sells Film Back to Producers (Exclusive)

The Tracking Board reports that Lionsgate has pulled their upcoming John Travolta John Gotti biopic Gotti (it's a real movie, you're not high) from their schedule.

Gotti's target for a wide release is now May 2018, but the film has to acquire a new distributor first, so it remains to be seen if that timetable will hold.

Gotti was set for a December 15 release via Lionsgate, but the movie company has since sold the film back to its producers Emmett/Furla/Oasis.

The news of the film's rescheduled release comes a month after Travolta was accused of sexual battery on a 21-year-old male.

Creek fire shuts down portion of 210 Freeway, traffic being diverted
The fire first broke out around 4 a.m. near Little Tujunga Canyon Road and rapidly spread as a result of Santa Ana winds. Classes are canceled today at Los Angeles Mission College due to the mandatory evacuations, officials said.

"Entourage" star Kevin Connolly directed the flick.

"The Life and Death of John Gotti" stars John Travolta in the title role and co-stars Kelly Preston. The film spans several decades of his life.

"Gotti" tells the story of flamboyant Mafia boss John Gotti, nicknamed the "Teflon Don" until his 1992 conviction on murder and racketeering charges, who died of throat cancer while in prison in 2002. 'HBO made a Gotti movie in 1996, but his death, which was terrible, hasn't been covered too much. "That's a different angle that we're going to explore".
