Steyer Slams Democratic Opposition to Impeaching Trump: 'Human Beings' Outside Washington Support It
No Republicans have said that Trump ought to be removed from office and many Democrats, particularly those in the party's leadership, have said talk of impeachment is premature.
Under House procedural rules, any member of the House may offer what is known as a "privileged motion" to force a vote on articles of impeachment.
Rep. Al Green is introducing a resolution on impeaching Trump, citing the president's "association with white nationalism, neo-Nazism and hate" and accusing him of inciting hatred and hostility.
"I love my country", Representative Al Green of Texas said in a memo to colleagues Tuesday, before adding he meant to bring articles of impeachment against a president who was "unmindful of the high duties of his high office and the dignity and properties thereof".
"In doing this, hatred disguised as acceptable political correctness has festered in our body politic and polluted our discourse to our detriment. It causes unparalleled destruction to our society in the long- and short-term that will not easily heal".

In May, he delivered a speech on the House floor suggesting Trump be impeached for firing FBI Director James Comey, which Green said amounted to obstruction of justice.
Green's resolution is mostly symbolic in the Republican-controlled Congress and even fellow Democrats have backed away from similar efforts. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called impeachment a waste of time and energy, while Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) urged patience for frustrated Democrats who wanted to bring impeachment proceedings against Trump.
Pushing impeachment before the investigators complete their work, they say, could undermine the prospect of bipartisan action on impeachment should the inquiries uncover compelling evidence against the president.
Depending on your perspective, the specter or hope of impeachment has hung over this administration since before Donald Trump took office in January of this year. "May everyone vote their conscience knowing that history will judge us all".
