Air New Zealand forced to cancel flights after Dreamliner engine issues

AIR NEW ZEALAND
Some flights will be retimed or cancelled for checks on Air New Zealand's Dreamliners
Reuters reported this morning that Air New Zealand had said that "two recent events" involving Rolls-Royce's Trent 1000 engines had prompted it to cancel and delay some global flights over the coming weeks.
Rolls-Royce has advised the carrier that some of the Trent 1000 engines in the airline's Boeing 787-9 fleet require maintenance sooner than previously indicated. The problems come after past year All Nippon Airways (ANA), found a problem with the group's engines in its fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Another flight earlier this week bound for Buenos Aires experienced similar issues.
In a statement to the New Zealand stock exchange on Thursday, Air New Zealand said as a result of recent Rolls Royce "engine events" on its Boeing 787-9 fleet, it would cancel and delay flights each day over the coming weeks.
Auckland Airport has welcomed the announcement by Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines that they will increase flights on the Singapore to Auckland route.
Air New Zealand said today it would be focused on finding replacement aircraft capacity.
According to the New Zealand Herald, passengers on the flight to Tokyo reported hearing "weird noises" and said the aircraft was shaking throughout the flight.
Earlier this year, Virgin Atlantic switched one of its daily trans-Atlantic flights to Delta Air Lines, which bought a 49% stake in Virgin Atlantic in 2012, to allow the Trent 1000 engines mounted on its 787 Dreamliners to undergo maintenance.
The company told the NZX that at "this stage" it did not anticipate any change to current financial guidance.
"Under the alliance, Singapore Airlines has access to New Zealand's domestic, Australia and Pacific Islands network, and similarly Air New Zealand to over 50 destinations throughout Singapore Airlines' South East Asia, Europe and South Africa network", says Mr Tasker.
Air New Zealand is not the first airline to report issues with Rolls-Royce's Trent 1000 engines.

Saif to postpone 'Kaalakaandi' if 'Padmavati' clashes
I still think it was a good movie, and I enjoyed my work in it. "I don't think it was even publicised correctly". We have already had a chance to see a full-fledged teaser of the film in earlier this year in July.
Australian Parliament OKs same-sex marriage
It follows years of campaigning from the Australian LGBTIQ community and dozens of failed attempts to change the law. A nonbinding postal survey found that 62 percent of Australian respondents wanted gay marriage to be legal.
Donald Trump Jr. in private interview with House panel
The Washington Post has reported that the president dictated the statement Trump Jr. released that day about the meeting. In my view, there is no attorney-client privilege that protects a discussion between father and son.
