Hall of Fame QB Warren Moon facing lawsuit for sexual harassment
07 December 2017, 04:42 | Sandy Nunez
Seahawks broadcaster and former Husky star Warren Moon sued for sexual harassment
When he retired in 2000, he held the record for most passing yards in history, NFL and CFL combined, and is one of the few men in both leagues' Hall of Fame.
Moon's accuser is a woman who was previously employed by the former player's sports marketing company, Sports 1 Marketing (creative name...) based in Irvine, California.
Haskill also alleges that she filed a complaint to the company about Moon's behavior in October and was demoted, per Whitlock.
Soon after she began her employment, Moon demanded Ms. Haskell submit to a variety of unnerving sexual and perverse controlling arrangements, including sleeping in the same bed with him on all business trips, providing him unfettered access to the bathroom every time she showered, wearing skimpy lingerie while in the obligatory single room, obtaining prior approval for her wardrobe, and being subjected to continuous unwanted and unsolicited sexual advances.
It was during that alone time while traveling that Moon committed his worst offenses, according to Haskell. In 1995, he was sued by a Minnesota Vikings cheerleader for sexual harassment and in the same year, he was arrested for physically abusing his wife.
He was forced to spend the first six years of his career in the Canadian Football League reportedly because of a league-wide bias against black quarterbacks; Moon was told he would be better off playing another position at first.
According to the lawsuit, Haskell complained about the job requirements on multiple occasions, but was told by Moon that if she didn't want to do what was asked of her, then he'd "find someone else who was" willing.
Fitzgerald said Haskell did not report any of Moon's conduct, including the alleged sexual battery, to police.
His Edmonton Eskimos won consecutive five Grey Cups and though his US teams never won a title, he was named to nine Pro Bowls and set several single-season passing records in a less pass-happy era than now. He anchored the last consistent run of success for the Oilers before they moved to Tennessee and became the Titans.
