Hugh Jackman Passed On Playing James Bond
Of course, the Bond franchise did eventually go down the grittier path Jackman envisioned when Daniel Craig succeed Brosnan with 2006's Casino Royale.
Logan - his final portrayal as Wolverine after almost two decades with the character - is one of the most well-received superhero films of all time, and he's about to roll out The Greatest Showman, a massive spectacle about the life of P.T. Barnum.
Jackman, who is best known for playing Wolverine in X-Men movies, recently revealed in an interview with Variety that he was offered to play iconic James Bond following the success of the first X-Men movie. Becoming James Bond is a pretty big deal considering only seven men have played him on the big screen in the franchise's history - however the allure clearly didn't ring too much with Jackman and he turned down the offer. "I just felt at the time that the scripts had become so unbelievable and insane, and I felt like they needed to become grittier and real", the Tony winners shares".
Australian actor Hugh Jackman was sought as the replacement for Brosnan.
Maybe they took Jackman's feedback on board? It was Hugh and James Mangold and myself, and when it got to the last 10 minutes of the movie, it was emotional and intense, and I could feel myself getting choked up. So there's some sense of missed opportunity, but when I saw 'Logan, ' I sat there and I did have tears in my eyes.

The search for a new Bond will be on again soon, with Daniel Craig set to leave the role after the character's upcoming 25th film outing.
Daniel Craig was ultimately offered the role and, well, it seems like they decided to make him gritty after all.
He added: "I was about to do X-Men 2, and a call came from my agent asking if I'd be interested in Bond".
