NFL Players React to Roger Goodell's $200 Million Contract Extension

Steelers Safety Mike Mitchell Goes On Profanity-Laced Rant About NFL Discipline, Commissioner Roger Goodell

Watch: Steelers Safety Mike Mitchell Unloads on NFL Discipline Procedure, Roger Goodell

"Hand us all some flags and we'll go out there and try to grab the flags off", Mitchell said, via ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

The three plays in question resulted in the same initial suspension of one game each: Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski pulled an impromptu wrestling move on an already-down Tre'Davious White (who had to be checked for a concussion); Steelers receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster laid out Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict (who left the game in a cart) on a block; and Bengals safety George Iloka made helmet-to-helmet contact with Steelers receiver Antonio Brown as he caught a touchdown in the end zone. On Tuesday Mitchell went on a Twitter rant about the National Football League giving Schuster the same punishment as New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski for his cheap shot on Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White. There are lots of good rules making football safer, Mike Mitchell doesn't love all of them. He wants to hit dudes and he wants to play the game of football the way he grew up playing it.

Mitchell was also highly critical of the National Football League on Twitter, where he called for Commissioner Roger Goodell to be fired as news broke that Goodell signed a five-year contract extension.

Whew. OK. Video below - via Mark Kaboly of The Athletic Pittsburgh - in case you want to watch it, and you should, because it's epic.

"You don't think Goodell doesn't know about what is going on?" "You wanna see flag football, then let's take our pads off". Mitchell is one of the most gray-area players in the National Football League so it only makes sense he would defend the actions of the guys who cross the line. "You have to know what the risk is when you sign up". Andy Dalton threw a ball to Tyler Eifert two years ago.

'Salvator Mundi' Buyer Revealed: Little Known Saudi Prince
The highest known sale price for any artwork had been $US300 million, for Willem de Kooning's painting, Interchange . In 2013, Salvator Mundi was bought by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev for $127.5 million.

"I got a-holes like Matt Hasselbeck calling me a dirty player and trying my character and we've never met before". You can't. It's just the risk of playing football. Make that make sense. "But from the players' standpoint, I just don't understand what they're doing, what they're talking about, because the evidence is there", he added. I donate more money to Cincinnati underprivileged kids than probably people on the Bengals.

We gotta get better leadership as who's running the league, because obviously everybody, from fans, owners, players are all disappointed in Roger Goodell. We've got to do better as players when we sign the next CBA.

Players don't know what they can or can't do. We can't have a guy where you just hand out discipline on how you see fit. There needs to be a set guideline on how we do what we do.

"It's the stupidest thing in the world", center Maurkice Pouncey said. It wasn't away from the ball, wasn't a hit on a kicker, a defenseless player, it was a guy getting ready to make a tackle; a much bigger football player.
