Nintendo Switch Sales Hit 2.5 Million In Japan

Nintendo Switch becomes fastest selling console of the year in Japan with 2.5 million units sold

The PS4 may have surpassed 70 million units worldwide, but that doesn't mean Sony's getting complacent. In total, over 12.2 million copies of PSVR games have been sold in both storefronts and digital marketplaces.

Estimated sales figures from SIE show that PlayStation VR cumulatively sold through more than 2 million units to consumers worldwide as of 3rd December, 2017.

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the latest milestones for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR as well as PS4 and PS VR games.

Furious rally powers Ohio State to 71-62 win over MI
MI led by as many as 20 in the half, but the 7-0 run - capped by a monster dunk by JaeSean Tate - pulled it closer. Moritz Wagner led the way for MI with 14 points, and Zavier Simpson and Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman each added 11.

Sony had an impressive 2017, so it should come as surprise to no one that the sales of the PlayStation 4 itself were equally impressive this year, with sales topping 70 million worldwide - an achievement that comes just four years after the console went on sale in November 2013. "I can not thank our fans and partners enough".

Sony is getting ready to close out 2017, and it was quite a year for the company's Playstation brand. "We will continue to work closely with partners to maintain this momentum and remain steadfast in making PS4 the best place to play", House said.

In the report Sony added, "On the software front, PS4's portfolio will continue to expand with an array of games including "God of War", "Detroit: Become Human" and "Marvel's Spider-Man". There's also more than 130 videogames and other content now in development for the headset states the company, all due to be released by the end of 2018. PlayStation has delivered innovation to the market since the launch of the original PlayStation in Japan in 1994. Even if it eventually does, it's not inconceivable that Sony will have already turned its attention to the inevitable PlayStation 5 at that point.
