Ford Expands ST Trim to Edge SUV
Ford has yet to release any performance figures, however. The 2019 Edge ST, which makes its world debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, is the first crossover in the Ford lineup to undergo serious performance tinkering.
New styling will set the ST aside from the standard updated Edge, with a wider mesh and side skirts ideally conveying a more powerful stance to the ST.
Delivering the power is a new quick-shifting 8-speed automatic that's connected to a full-time all-wheel drive system.
The Edge Sport has been rebadged as the Edge ST for 2019, with the 2.7-litre turbo V6 now making 335 hp in US spec (up 20 hp) and 515 Nm of torque.
While the most notable features of the 2019 Ford Edge ST make it one of the best-performing mid-sized SUVs sold in America, the design team paid the same attention to the interior and exterior as they did with the Focus and Fiesta ST packages. The current Edge Sport pricing starts at $41,670, hinting the ST version to be priced somewhere near.
LiAngelo & LaMelo Ball 1st Pro Game in Lithuania
At the end of the presser, a Lithuanian reporter asked Gelo if he had a girlfriend and if he'd like to go out with her. There were a couple of highlights, such as LiAngelo's open-court dunk and LaMelo's sweet dish to his older brother.
It's only two years since the Ford Edge SUV arrived in the United Kingdom market as a big brother to the Kuga and Ecosport in Ford's SUV range, but it's already getting a bit of a facelift. As you can probably tell, the Edge ST also stands out from the crowd thanks to an aggressive body kit, 21-inch wheels, and dual exhaust.
Coming up as the first Ford crossover to boast some major performance tweaks, the 2019 Ford Edge ST sports a new trim, a new look, and plenty of exciting features.
New Edge SUV lineup is Ford's smartest ever, offering more standard driver-assist technology than any other midsize SUV and introducing to the segment new available technologies such as Post-Collision Braking, Evasive Steering Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centering. That means it will be putting out a total of 335 horsepower and 380 lb. -ft. of torque, which isn't to be sniffed at.
It gets better for those living in the United States though. This includes Forward Collision Warning and Dynamic Brake Support; Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection; BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert; Lane-Keeping Alert; Lane-Keeping Assist; Auto High Beams; and Hill-Start Assist. It's expect to look like the just launched 2019 Edge (pictured, above), which is also being revealed at the Detroit show.
There's a new onboard WiFi system capable of connecting to as many as 10 different wireless devices, even if you're outside the vehicle, say, for a tailgate party.
