Sorvino famously acted and won an Oscar in Allen's film Mighty Aphrodite in 1995, but she has vowed to never work with the director again in an open letter to his adoptive daughter, Dylan Farrow.

"He shared enough of what he was uncovering for me to be increasingly concerned for his safety", Mia recalled. Actress Mira Sorvino is now ready to stand by her.

You can put Mira Sorvino's name on the growing list of actresses who regret working with Woody Allen.

In a conversation with Aaron Sorkin and Frank Bruni of The New York Times, she was ready to confront her past.

Sorvino says that in the aftermath of Weinstein's outing as a sexual predator, and as a man who deliberately worked to derail her career, she reached out to Ronan Farrow. The Lady Bird director also stated that she was "hurt" for also adding to Dylan's pain. She ends by calling Farrow a hero and stating conclusively that she believes her. After the publication of Dylan's Los Angeles Times piece, a representative for Allen said, "Dylan Farrow's allegations against Woody Allen, which she first made 25 years ago, have been thoroughly examined by law enforcement officials and child welfare investigators".

The 50-year-old, who went on to win an Oscar for the part, continued, "It is hard to sever ties and denounce your heroes, your benefactors, whom you fondly admired and felt a debt of gratitude toward for your entire career's existence".

Refuting the claims, the 78-year-old American screenwriter lashed out at his former wife Mia Farrow and revealed that he loved her and hopes that one day she will grasp how she has been cheated out of having a loving father and exploited by a mother more interested in her own festering anger than her daughter's well-being. "I am so, so sorry!" "You know, it's something that I've thought deeply about and I care deeply about, and I haven't had an opportunity to have an in-depth discussion where I come down on one side or the other".

In her letter, Sorvino said she never personally experienced any inappropriate behavior by Allen on set, "but this does not excuse my turning a blind eye to your story simply because I wanted desperately for it not to be so".

The journalist also claims to have received threatening phone calls, and noticed "mysterious men" following him in public, prompting his mum to express some serious concerns for his safety. "I have not worked for him again, and I will not work for him again", Gerwig said. "To those who have already taken a stand and amplified my voice with theirs, there is a 7-year-old girl inside of me who thanks you from the bottom of her heart". "I grew up on his movies, and they have informed me as an artist, and I cannot change that fact now, but I can make different decisions moving forward".
