Bilal Ahmad Kawa, a suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorist, wanted for his alleged role in 2000 Red Fort terror attack case, was on Thursday sent to a 10-day police remand by a Delhi court. The police has said that these claims are yet to be verified.

He was arrested in a joint operation by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police and the Gujarat ATS from Delhi Airport yesterday. Kawa is reported to have transferred Rs29.50 lakh through hawala in various bank accounts, including those of Kawa, to fund the attack.

Kawa is believed to have told the police that in the past 18 years, he had changed his location frequently, but that he had been living in Jammu and Kashmir of late. "What is making them arrest my son after 17 years of this incident", said Kawa's mother Fatima". Sources said the documents the suspect was traveling with had the same name. Sources told the newspaper that Kawa was going to meet his brother in Delhi. "Terrorists don't live in their own houses and book flight tickets in their own name".
