Saturday will offer no respite from the frigid temperatures, with highs predicted to be around 19 degrees and wind chill readings as cold as minus 2 degrees, according to the weather service.
While the low temperature Friday will be around 32, Saturday's low will only be around 10.
More rain is expected in the Sierra Nevada region, with rainfall of 3 to 4 inches expected.
Temperatures are expected to dip into the 20s Saturday night for the Patriots-Titans playoff game. This could be a big deal as ice accumulates Friday night into Saturday morning.
The temperature will soar to about 60 degrees, the weather service said.

Heavy rain is expected to move through Massachusetts Friday and persist into Saturday morning before a flash freeze triggered by dropping temperatures creates slick conditions on the roadways.
