Dark Souls Remastered PS4
As it is the case with such rumors, the news spread like wildfire and the PC community celebrated it, until a recent article by PCGamer confirmed through an official source from Bandai Namco that there is no discount for owners of the original Dark Souls.
This announcement comes as a great treat for the Souls series. Although it is not a new entry into the series, the remaster will bring a lot of updates and quality of life changes for the current generation of consoles. Up to six players can join together online to help, or hurt, each other throughout their quest. In addition to that, the game now has dedicated server, instead of P2P connection.
As a point of comparison, Dark Souls Remastered will run at 1080p and 60 fps on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, while on PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X it will be playable on the 4K resolution.
All of the game's contents, including DLC, should come with the remastered edition. The inclusion of the Dark Souls franchise in the ever-growing catalogue of Switch games goes right along with Nintendo's decision to include more mature titles like Doom and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. And while that will certainly be disappoint for some, the game will still have Upscaled 4K resolution and run at 60 FPS which are arguably far more important. However, that excitement may now be diminished for the PS4 crowd, as it has just revealed there was one fairly significant mistake made in the post: contrary to what was initially stated, the PS4 Pro version of Dark Souls: Remastered won't feature HDR Lighting.
