The exam, lasting several hours in a medical facility in Bethesda, Maryland, will measure things like 71-year-old Mr Trump's blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, heart rate and weight.

The White House announced it would offer reporters the chance to speak with Jackson in the middle of an outside debate over the president's mental fitness. "All the signs have been getting worse", she said. Information about the president's health is usually released to the public after the test.

"Your duty to this patient and the country that employs you as an officer of the United States Navy is to refer your patient to specialist care if any elements of your neurological and psychiatric examination yield pertinent results", reads the letter, which was provided to POLITICO.

It remains unclear what of Jackson's exam will be released and when that might happen. The book did not receive almost as much attention as Michael Wolff's new Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, which describes an ignorant but emotionally charged chief executive with deteriorating cognitive skills.

Steyer's team was approached about the letter by John Gartner, a psychiatrist who founded Duty to Warn, a group that calls for Trump to be removed from office because he is, according to the group, "psychologically unfit". "Any president's mental health is inextricably tied to our health as a society, and, in this case, Trump's mental state poses a serious danger that we must be willing to discuss and address". Doctors said at the time that the cancer did not require chemotherapy. "Many people who are developing or have dementia do not receive a diagnosis".

The Pay Gap Between Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams
The rumored pay gap sparked backlash from several Hollywood stars like Jessica Chastain and Williams' close friend, Busy Phillips. But the new USA Today story debunks both of those claims, reporting that both actors had reshoots included their contracts.

Trump's physical health has been questioned and is often the subject of mystery.

And some mental-health professionals have stated they don't agree with Lee and others who worry about Trump's mental fitness.

"The President's physical exam today at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center went exceptionally well", Jackson said in a short statement on Friday.

According to a recent book Donald Trump is a big fan of fast food and soft drinks. "I think it's going to go very well", Trump said. The check-up came just before Trump left for another weekend at his Mar-a-Lago resort, a golf club at which he spent almost every third day of his presidency in 2017 alone.

On Friday evening the embassy released a statement which was potentially embarrassing for the President, as a spokesman explained it was not Barack Obama who made the decision, but George W Bush - a fellow Republican.
