Guice is the latest draft-eligible Tiger to enter the NFL Draft, joining defensive backs Kevin Toliver and Donte Jackson, offensive lineman Toby Weathersby and linebacker Arden Key. Since taking over for Leonard Fournette as the Tigers' starter this past season, it was nearly a foregone conclusion that Guice would enter the draft.
Guice was expected to forgo his season season and he announced his decision via Twitter.
Fittingly, LSU's No. 5 is the Tigers' fifth underclassman headed to this year's NFL Draft. "Having an opportunity to play for this historic university was truly an honor... nothing will ever replace LSU in my heart because you played a big part in raising me from a young boy into becoming a man".
As a junior in 2017, Guice ran for 1,251 yards and 11 touchdowns. He finished with 2,638 yards and 26 rushing touchdowns over his final two seasons in Baton Rouge. Guice eventually broke through, running rampant for 276 yards against the Ole Miss in LSU's 40-24 win.
