Thomas Davis Panthers

Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis has reportedly said that the 2018 year will be his final professional season, according to Brooke Cersosimo of the NFL Network.

It's hard to imagine the Carolina Panthers without Thomas Davis, but fans of the team might have to get used to that thought. He also came back from three ACL surgeries to be an All-Pro in 2013 and 2015. "Shaq (Thompson) has definitely earned the right, and when you look at (David) Mayo, he's coming along", Davis said on the Panthers' website".

The news comes four days after he admitted he'll likely play a "reduced role" next year. Davis said earlier this week that he expected to take on a lesser role next year and has now confirmed that 2018 will be his 14th and final National Football League season.

He also has only missed three games in the last six seasons, following his third ACL fix.

Davis is a two-time Pro Bowler and the 2014-15 Walter Payton Man of the Year.

Davis scored his first-career touchdown on a fumble recovery and return against the Arizona Cardinals in 2016.
