Canadiens' Phillip Danault to remain in hospital overnight after Zdeno Chara slapper to head
When he regained consciousness, he attempted to get back to his feet, but he collapsed after getting to his knees.
Danault was taken off the ice on a stretcher after he was hit in the head by Chara's shot - the 6-foot-9 defenseman didn't wind up fully for the one-timer.
Chara understandably was left shaken by the incident and was the first player to have words with Danault as he was taken off the ice.
The Canadiens later announced that Danault was transported to hospital to undergo testing, and that he is awake and moving. Pacioretty had a couple of swipes at the loose puck before bouncing it off Tuukka Rask's skate. The Bruins have been one of the league's best teams this season and are in the midst of an 8-2 mark in their last 10 games and have won six in a row against divisional foes which has them hot on the heels of the Tampa Bay Lightning for top spot. The Canadiens captain got a third goal in as many games. Marchand got a step on Byron and converted a ideal pass from Patrice Bergeron.

It was his 11th of the season and the 100th of his career. Nicolas Deslauriers pulled Montreal even when he picked off a pass from Chara in the neutral zone and then beat Rask at 5:45 with s flawless shot along the ice on the blocker side.
Boston countered on the power play at 17:40, with Patrice Bergeron taking the puck along the boards and feeding it to Marchand in front of Montreal goalie Carey Price. Jordie Benn blocked Chara's shot from the blueline, but David Krejci buried the rebound. The Bruins went on to win 4-3 in a shootout. The Bruins scored on their only power play. So after Saturday, the Bruins will again see the Habs on Wednesday and Saturday, with tilts against the Dallas Stars and New York Islanders mixed in on Monday and Thursday as well.
