The Obama administration began the program in 2012, which enabled certain young immigrants brought to the USA illegally as children to apply for work permits and protection from deportation.

In response to a recent federal court order issued on Tuesday, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officials announced on Saturday that they would resume accepting renewal applications for those benefiting from the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

In deciding to end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, the Trump administration had called it an egregious example of executive overreach.

He challenged Congress to replace the program with. The program will be operated under the same terms as before the Trump administration rescinded the program on September 5, the agency said.

The announcement comes after a USA judge on Thursday temporarily blocked a decision by President Donald Trump to end DACA later this year.
