Hasin's complaint: cases under non-bailable sections registered against Shami
India fast bowler Mohammed Shami is now going through a tough phase as he has been accused of domestic violence by his wife Hasin Jahan.
Shami's mother Anjuman Ara Begum, sister Sabina Anjum, brother Mohammad Hasib Ahmed and his wife Shama Parveen were also booked.
Earlier an FIR was filed against Mohammed Shami under sections 498A, 323, 307, 376, 506, 328, 34 of the Indian Penal Code against Shami and 4 others following Hasin Jahan's complaint.
As reported by DNA, Jahan also made the allegations that Shami forced her to have a physical relation with his brother, and Shami had sexual relations with sex workers when on tour.
There were, however, mixed reactions in BCCI as some officials felt that COA chief Vinod Rai could have waited for the police inquiry to get over and charges levelled against Shami being proved before his central contract was withheld.
Refuting the allegations, Shami that he wasn't sure why Jahan was saying so and said that the possibility of Jahan losing her mental balance can't be ruled out.
"Kolkata police's detective department has already started an investigation", joint commissioner Praveen Tripathi said.
"My husband's elder brother, Hasib Ahmad, raped me when I went to my in-laws' place in Uttar Pradesh past year", Jahan said.
"I won't blame my wife, she is under someone's influence and is being brainwashed". "They urged me to adjust as I was a woman", she claimed.
"I had informed each one of them about the torture Shami was inflicting on me".
Shami used Twitter to dismiss the "false allegations" and called it a "big conspiracy" to derail his game.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India dropped Shami from a list of contracted players unveiled Wednesday, which saw skipper Virat Kohli and other top Test players awarded salaries just above $1 million.
