Dolphins set to release Ndamukong Suh, report says

While it's unknown if this is the case at this point, Suh will nearly certainly be a post-June 1 designation, which is why the team must wait until Wednesday to make the release official.

Suh signed a six-year, $114 million contract with Miami in 2015.

Suh's release also will take a large contract off Miami's books.?Suh carried a salary-cap number of $26.1 million for the 2018 season, including a base salary of $16.985 million. He followed that up by registering 41 tackles and 5.5 sacks in 2016 as he was elected to his fifth ever Pro Bowl appearance. The team traded running back Jay Ajayi during the 2017 season, and just last week agreed to a trade sending wide receiver Jarvis Landry to the Cleveland Browns.

Jeff Darlington reports defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is expected to be released as soon as Monday.

Daycare owner sentenced for drugging kids so she could tan, work out
Prosecutors said the 32-year-old's crimes are more than just criminal mistreatment as she had a history of criminal activity. The children who had been left in her care during those trips had melatonin in their systems, according to court documents.

The timing of the move is puzzling because the Dolphins will save only $3.9 million in salary cap space with a $22.2 million penalty. Should the Dolphins designate him a post-June 1 cut, they'll save $17 million in 2018 and $19 million in 2019.

Suh, 31, appears to have known the Dolphins planned to release him, as he posted a video from Seattle early Monday morning in which he said, "Stay tuned".

Suh started all 44 games he has played with the Dolphins, coming up with 14.5 sacks along with 107 tackles, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. The only two games Suh missed in his career were due to a suspension after he stomped on then-Green Bay offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith in 2011.
