Sean Smith Will Plead Guilty to Assault Charge; Cut by Raiders

Sean Smith will be released by Oakland Raiders
Below is Oakland's official news release on Monday's transactions. Shortly after his release the LA Times' Nathan Fenno reported that Smith will plead guilty Tuesday to a felony count of assault with great bodily injury related to an altercation in Pasadena a year ago.
Smith was set to make $8.25 million in base salary in 2018, and his release comes with no dead money against Oakland's cap.
When Smith first inked a four-year contract with the Raiders for a whopping $38 million, it was enough to stave off every other suitor in the team's hopes to remedy their pass defense.
After Ken Norton Jr. was replaced as defensive playcaller by John Pagano, Smith was used more to his strengths.
Trump stumps for Republican Saccone in tight PA race
The comments came as part of Trump's larger assertion that "toughness" is the only way to end America's drug and opioid crisis. The 18th is the heart of steel country where almost everyone knows someone who worked in the industry. "I might like him".
Smith is also facing legal problems. He allowed opposing quarterbacks to post a 116.5 passer rating when targeting him in 2016, according to SportRadar. He said he was only on the field in certain packages early in the season and could not get into the flow of a game as a result.
Sean Smith is once again set to be a free agent, at least if rumors from Bill Williamson are correct that the Oakland Raiders have chose to release the veteran cornerback. Amerson later signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. His 32 tackles a year ago matched the fewest since his 2009 rookie season with Miami.
The 30-year-old appeared in 14 games for the Raiders last season, starting eight.
