This "American Idol" contestant's first kiss was with judge Katy Perry

Katy Perry Has the Hots for 'Idol' Contestant Trevor Holmes!

American Idol returned in style this week with the help of host Ryan Seacrest and new American Idol judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie.

The figure is down 23 percent in the 18-49 demo and down from the 10.9 million that tuned in to the "Farewell Season" on Fox as well as down six percent in total viewers from the last season on Fox.

Nineteen-year-old Benjamin Glaze got more than he bargained for when he appeared on American Idol.

The AP notes that Nielsen said the turnout for the "Idol" premiere "represented ABC's biggest Sunday night audience with regular series programming since 2012". Despite that, it easily won the night for ABC. Michelle's boots weren't just made for walkin' but dancin' too.

Former First Round Pick Traded To Patriots
NFL Network's Ian Rapaport is reporting that the Packers will receive Browns starting quarterback Deshaun Kizer in the trade. With Gordon on the outside, Landry in the slot and Taylor behind center, the Browns have the makings of a potent attack.

Seems like only yesterday when the curtain came down on "Idol" after Fox decided it wanted to take a break from the show, but ABC chose to revive the show and introduced a new panel of judges that featured Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryant to spruce things up, CNN reported.

Fox's presentation of a 2006 Simpson interview, during which he speculated about how he might have killed his former wife, was watched by 4.4 million people. The two-hour season opener was seen by 10.3 million viewers, according to figures provided by ABC.

Later in the evening, ABC wisely used "Idol" as a springboard for its new drama "Deception", a high-concept curiosity about a disgraced magician who uses his powers to solve cases for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

For the most part, the new "American Idols" gained positive reviews from critics.
