Are Saints in danger of losing Drew Brees to the... Vikings

Yet the 39-year-old repeatedly has vowed that he plans to be a "Saint for life" and isn't interested in talking to other teams, even though he knows the Saints would prefer to pay him just one year at a time at this stage of his career.

His arrival in Minnesota would nearly certainly make the Vikings the Super Bowl favorites and would give Brees a better chance at his second ring.

The Vikings are looking to replace three free agent quarterbacks in Case Keenum, Sam Bradford and Teddy Bridgewater.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network said the Vikings reached out to representatives for several quarterbacks as the NFL free-agent negotiating window began Monday afternoon.

With the Vikings still reportedly in hot pursuit of free-agent quarterback Kirk Cousins, another top-line QB apparently surfaced on the Vikings radar Monday - longtime Saints star Drew Brees.

Mattis warns Syria on chemical weapons, doubts Russian missile claims
Eastern Ghouta has been besieged for years after many of its residents joined the initial protests against Assad's rule in 2011. At least 1,162 civilians have been killed, including 241 children, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The road to the Super Bowl in the NFC is daunting, with a wide variety of teams expected to be legitimate contenders over the next 3-5 years.

METAIRIE, La. - There is still no reason to fear that Drew Brees will suddenly reverse course and decide to leave the New Orleans Saints for a bigger offer elsewhere this week. Brees and the Saints have until Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET to work out a new deal, or his contract will be voided. It's always been assumed Brees and New Orleans would find common ground on a new short-term deal with the club coming off its best season since winning the Super Bowl in 2009.

Brees could walk away from New Orleans and get paid more money and have just as good of a chance to win elsewhere.

The situation is worth monitoring as the legal tampering period arrives.

Almost everyone assumes that Brees will be back with the Saints for the 2018 National Football League season. Now that Brees and the Saints are on the brink of the moment where other teams can formally try to bogart him, anything can happen.
